Hey! Come on in, it's going to be...experimental.
I'd envisioned this post as a video, me chatting to you from home, surrounded by the (beautiful?) chaos that is a renovation and telling you my vision for this newsletter. But alas, I don't have time because I have a very important date with BEYONCE tonight so I need to find my rhinestone cowboy hat and hit the road. So until I get round to filming I wanted to say a very quick hello and thanks for subscribing if you’re new. And if you’ve been a Life Unstyled follower for a while, thanks for sticking around and following me onto this next chapter.
If you look at the date on the last post (my first) it says March 2022 because that’s when I joined Substack (and they automatically create a ‘coming soon’ placeholder page which is what that was). It look me over a year to actually write and publish that first post (yesterday) and that should tell you something about the state of my mind in recent years. Good intentions, but frequently overwhelmed and creatively stunted - despite writing another book and buying and designing a house during that time. In my next post I’ll talk more about what led me to this point of seeking a new outlet and way to connect, but I can say that already I feel a buzz by starting something new. I feel an inkling of that delicious flow state all artists crave, but which can often be elusive. All the things I’ve been wanting to do - podcasts, videos, writing, illustration, connecting once again with people - all in one place. How brilliant!
I kind of know what I want to do here although it is also a creative experiment of sorts, but I’d also love to know what you want to hear/read about - interiors tips, career advice, colour paletting, how to become a stylist, how I wrote my books, how to design a photo shoot, how to get yourself a gorgeous Italian boyfriend who cooks and cleans - I dunno! You tell me.
Make sure to subscribe so you get my newsletters directly to your inbox and why not tell a friend you think might be interested. And thank you.
