Loved reading this Emily, I’m the same age as you and this brought back so many memories. 🤎 Like a Virgin was one of my first albums (second to Now That’s What I Call Music 7)!! She was certainly the first (for our generation) in defining goal power and ultimately not giving a shit about anything.

The gentrification paradox you mention is so real. When creatives and artists revitalize an area, they inadvertently price themselves out. I saw this happen in Brooklyn over a decade. Madonna's endorsement will probaly accelerate it in Margate. Curious how local councils could balance preservation of the existing community with inevitable growth.
