I really enjoyed this piece and agree with you so much. I much prefer seeing people's normal life and think it affects people's mental health seeing a 'perfect' life on social and other media. I would much rather see a home that's lived in, than one which pretends that there's never any washing to do. My clothes maiden is upstairs out of the way, but there's always something on it!

Real Life team here! Probably it's because as an interior decorator I often have to actually convince my clients that it's almost impossible to reach that Instagram/Elle Decor/Pinterest gloss in a daily life if you don't have a housekeeper 24/7 to keep everything straight. And even if you'd have, I'd feel anxious to live inside a magazine cover.
